NATO leaders concluded their Ankara summit on 8 July with an emphasis on collective defence, investment and industrial capacity. The alliance's account reaffirmed the Article 5 commitment and described measures intended to strengthen readiness and cooperation among members.

NATO also reported new capability agreements and continued support for Ukraine. These announcements combine political commitments with projects that require implementation over time; announced funding or contracts should not automatically be described as money already spent or equipment already delivered. The summit's security focus extends to resilience and technological adaptation as well as conventional military capacity. This account reports the alliance's stated decisions and priorities, rather than treating its assessments as the views of all countries.
